OH&S standards

Our team follows proven OH&S procedures to manage risks, maintain safe sites, and deliver compliant plumbing work.

How we manage safety on every job

Health and safety are built into every part of our work, from planning through to completion. We follow VBA requirements, apply strict OH&S protocols, and ensure every job is carried out safely, legally, and under licensed supervision.

  • All work is completed in line with plumbing laws and regulatory requirements.
  • We follow OH&S protocols and use PPE to maintain safe working conditions on-site.
  • Licensed plumbers oversee all work to ensure compliance and accountability.
  • A Job Safety Assessment is completed before every job to identify and manage risks.
  • Safety procedures are followed to maintain a controlled work environment.

Our approach to risk management

Risks are managed through VBA frameworks and industry programs. Every job includes a Job Safety Assessment, ensuring hazards are identified early and controlled throughout the work.

Assess the job and site

Each job begins with an on-site assessment to identify hazards, site conditions, and any safety risks before work starts.

Complete a job safety assessment

A JSA is completed for every job to document risks and outline the controls needed to complete the work safely.

Plan safe work procedures

Work is planned in line with plumbing regulations and safety standards to ensure tasks are carried out using approved methods.

Use PPE and safety controls

Appropriate PPE and safety controls are applied throughout the job to reduce risk and maintain a safe working environment.

Follow compliance requirements

All work is completed in line with VBA requirements, including Plumbing Audit and Proactive Inspection Program standards.

Review and improve safety

Safety is reviewed as part of ongoing processes, with improvements made where needed to strengthen procedures and reduce future risks.

Ongoing training and competency standards

Our plumbers maintain VBA registration and work under current licensing requirements. Ongoing training, team discussions, and regular safety updates ensure our team stays aligned with industry standards and compliant work practices.

  • All plumbers maintain VBA registration and meet current licensing requirements.
  • Work is completed in line with updated regulations and industry standards.
  • Safety and compliance are reinforced through regular team meetings.
  • On-site experience supports ongoing skill development and consistency.
  • Team discussions help keep procedures aligned with current requirements.

Our incident management and response process

If a safety issue occurs, we follow a clear process to secure the site, manage risks, and resolve the situation. Our focus is on protecting people, keeping you informed, and taking corrective action to prevent the issue from happening again.

Secure the site and reduce risk

We secure the work area and remove immediate hazards where possible. If risks remain, we apply controls and PPE to ensure the site is safe to manage.

Assess and take corrective action

The situation is assessed to identify the cause and determine the right fix. Corrective actions are taken to resolve the issue safely and effectively.

Keep you informed throughout

We communicate clearly during the process so you understand what’s happening, what actions are being taken, and what to expect next.

Review and improve processes

After the incident, we review what happened and implement improvements to strengthen procedures and reduce the risk of a recurrence.

Licences and insurances

Zebra Plumbing operates under current licensing and insurance requirements. Our credentials, registrations, and coverage support compliant plumbing work and provide assurance that every job is completed under the correct legal framework.

Industry bodies and regulations we follow

Our work is guided by recognised industry bodies and regulations. These frameworks set the standards for safety, compliance, and quality across every plumbing job we complete.
